HIGH ATTENDANCE AT COMMUNITY CLUB MEETING

Approximately 65 folks attended the monthly Nantahala Community Club meeting last evening. Commissioner Ronnie Beale was the speaker who gave us much information and answered many questions on the tax revaluation along with info on the county's Recreation Plan, medicare, medicaid and home health availability. Many questions were answered with suggestions on how to go about appealing the tax burden of particular properties. Mr.Beale told us Commissioner Charlie Leatherman is assigned to represent the Nantahala district and we can call Charlie or Ronnie anytime. Reach Charlie at 828-524-9410 or 828-524-7092. There was much concern over the services needed here in our Township and still not anything particular promised except possibly an improvement at the Rec Park. It is the County Commissioners who dole out the funds for Police, Fire , recreation parks etc. There will be a forum on this website under NEIGHBORHOOD DISCUSSIONS for all to voice their concerns and any information or experience someone obtains would be greatly appreciated. Please refer to the forum so we can all read what any of us learn in order to help get our fair share of taxes we pay to the county back into Nantahala.
